Around 300 units of the SOTKON Standard 3m3 model of underground waste containers have already been provided for the first phase of the project of rehabilitation and urban redevelopment of Fine Futungo in Luanda, also called Tourism Development Pole Futungo Fine and Mussulo, and the installation has already begun and it is expected to become operational soon. After installation, the also called "ecological islands" will serve about 50 thousand inhabitants in a deal valued at about 2.6M euros.
The foundation stone of the works of construction of infrastructure took place in 2011 by the President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, and will have a duration of ten years. According to the Management Office of Futungo de Belas connected to the President's Office, the 5.37 million square meters development also aims to provide the establishment of a new standard for the city of Luanda, redefining and reorganizing residential and touristic use, the construction of infrastructures, residential housing development, trade and services, leisure equipment and tourism backing. Lots for single family housing from a thousand to two thousand square meters, the construction of buildings for apartments up to two floors, the construction of buildings for trade and services, as well as an area for leisure with beach hotels, convention, resort, among others should be the end result. It is also though the preservation and expansion of green spaces, with the construction of a theme park and ecological axis, the construction of marinas, docks, commercial spaces, ample parking and a variety of urban equipment and support to the practice of water sports.
This is a huge project so important for the city of Luanda and SOTKON intends to be present with its equipment in all phases of it.
