Each access key is programmed with the user’s ID and to which an exclusive 8-byte code is assigned. The user data is recorded in the system memory every time an access card or smart key interact with the module. Once unlocked, there's a close chamber (volumetric limiter) with a 30 to 35 litre capacity inside the intake bin or drum that restricts the amount of waste to be deposited. The waste goes down the container after the bin cover is closed. The purpose is for the user to manage the waste in a way that makes the most of the available space in that chamber. The system measures the discarding from that particular user by how many times the bin cover was opened. And there’s bins for organic and for recyclables.

Data processing and invoicing

At a predetermined date and time, the data stored in the memory of the access module in the intake bin or drum is transferred via GSM / GPRS to a back office platform. On this platform, the local waste management company can check all accesses as well as manage the obtained data. Finally, the user’s access data is transferred to certified billing software (not included). After price definition, the waste managing company is ready to invoice each user for the monthly refuse disposal.

Which data originates from the use of this tool?

Information concerning the user’s ID such as name, address, VAT number and type of user (i.e. domestic and non-domestic) and information about waste disposal practices such as type of waste and frequency of disposals.
